Young Luke arrived to Zwartkops Raceway fired up and ready to give it his all. Qualifying went really well for Luke putting his kart 3rd on the grid. A very impressive achievement taking into consideration that Luke is only 8 years old with most of his fellow competitors being 11 years of age. Race 1 saw Luke trying as hard as he could to try and catch the leaders which he was unable to do when he had to defend 3rd from a hard charging Moosa Kajee who was able to pass Luke in closing stages of the race. Race 2 was much like race 1 but this time it was Luke trying to pass Moosa for 3rd which he was able to do but unfortunately Luke was unable to keep 3rd ending race 2 in yet another 4th position. It was clear Luke wasn’t happy and was now even more determined to get higher up in race 3. Race 3 saw a determined Luke racing as hard as he possibly could to get that 3rd position but unfortunately for the young champ he has to settle for yet another 4th. Which then gave Luke 4th for the day. A position that this highly determined young man was not happy with. But taking into account that he is 3 years younger than the 3 competitors ahead of him it is a very impressive achievement. The K2 Motorsport prepared Praga SA Monster Evo 2 kart performed flawlessly the whole day. As always Luke will now be getting ready for his first Rok Cup SA race on the 23rd of February by putting in countless practice laps. Which will see Luke taking on 2 classes for the day those being Micro and Mini Rok. In closing Luke would like to thank his team K2 Motorsport and also his sponsors Steelform and Praga SA for giving him the equipment to be able to run at the sharp end of the field. Then to the most important people his supporters and his family for always being right behind him cheering him on. Until the next race be safe and we hope to see you all there.
