The past weekend saw Josh compete in the last Rok Cup National at Idube Raceway. Josh was very upbeat and positive after Friday practice. He was in the top 5 in every session and was happy with how his kart was handling. Saturday saw Josh put his kart 5th on the grid after qualifying was done. Which meant he would be in a strong position to challenge for the front come race 1. Race 1 was very competitive with Josh keeping up with the leaders. But just not able to challenge for the win crossing the line in 4th but after all the karts went through tech Josh was promoted to 3rd when a fellow competitor received a penalty. Race 2 was probable the hardest and most frustrating race for Josh. Making a small mistake at the start Josh lost a few positions but tried his utmost to charge back to the front but could not find a gap to get back to the front having to settle for 7th. Race 3 saw a determined and charged up Josh trying to close the gap to his teammates in first and second but it was a superb drive from Josh to cross the line in 3rd. When all was said and done Josh tied on points with 3rd place Tate Bishop but on count-back Josh was awarded 4th overall for the day. josh was extremely happy with this result as he had given his all and left it all on the track. This result at Idube also meant that Josh has achieved his goal for nationals ending up 5th overall for the year. A superlative achievement seeing as most of his fellow competitors have had a lot more experience in his highly competitive class. The years racing isn’t over yet as Josh still has a few Regional and a International event still left. Josh would firstly like to thank everyone at RKT for all their hard work and dedication in giving him the tools to be able to achieve his goals. Then to his family for all their love and support for always being there for him and allowing him to pursue his racing dreams. And finally everyone who has been there to support and encourage him. Without all of you none of this would be possible.
